2018 Summer Dinner : Barbara Lynch
On July 26, 2018 over 100 guests joined us at the St. Botolph Club for the NEHGS Summer Dinner, featuring Chef, author and restaurateur Barbara Lynch.
Barbara Lynch got her start working at the St. Botolph Club under Chef Mario Bonello. Since then, Barbara has opened seven highly-esteemed restaurants in the Boston area: No. 9 Park, B&G Oysters, The Butcher Shop, Stir, Drink, Sportello, and Menton. She is also a Chef Collaborator on the Eataly Boston team. She has won numerous awards including being named to the TIME 100, Time Magazine’s annual list of the world’s most influential people, in 2017.
Barbara captivated the audience with a reading from her memoir before taking part in a fascinating, vigorous, and at times uproarious Q&A session. She was then presented with an NEHGS Life Membership and gift. The evening closed with a most enjoyable and well-attended book signing.
Special thanks and appreciation to our Gold Benefactors for this special summer evening were Nancy and John Webster to our Silver Benefactors Judith Avery, Holly and David Bruce, Stephen H. Case, and Welch & Forbes LLC; and to our Benefactors Gerry and MaryLee Halpin, Beverly and Lyman Hamilton, Deborah Wentworth Lansing, Jo Anne C. Makely, Nancy S. Maulsby, Elizabeth and George Passela, and Jonathan B. Treat and Leslie Aitken.
