Summer Dinner 2016
On July 28th, 2016, more than 100 friends and supporters of NEHGS gathered together at the Harvard Club in Boston. Guests enjoyed a benefit dinner and NEHGS Councilor, Mary M. Tedesco, provided a heartfelt and humorous behind-the-scenes look at the popular PBS program, Genealogy Roadshow, of which she is a co-host. Ms. Tedesco also spoke of her own journey to discover her family history, including a visit to her ancestral town in Italy.
Earlier in the evening, President and CEO Brenton Simons was honored by the United States Daughters of 1812 with the Spirit of 1812 Award. This award, presented to him by Ginny Mucciaccio, President of the Massachusetts Society of the United States Daughters of 1812, is awarded to citizens who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in educating and documenting the history of the War of 1812.
